Let’s get into some questions…

Why did you decide to join Notion?

There are 2 parts to this story - I found Notion through my network as I had the good fortune of working for Robbie O’Connor and Kate Taylor at different points in my career, they are two of the best leaders I’ve had the pleasure to learn from so when I saw them both at Notion I got very curious. I decided to join Notion when I understood Notion’s mission and vision. I was very inspired listening to Ivan, our CEO and Co-Founder, discuss this in our interview. To this day, I still find this a motivating force in how I approach my work here. I remember at the time feeling — I’d love to be part of the team that delivers on this vision - and so here I am!

I was at a time in my career where I was spending a lot of time reflecting on what I wanted to do next, what suited my skill sets and what type of culture I would thrive in. Notion ticked all of the boxes I was looking for and I felt it aligned to a lot of my values. It’s a purpose drive, product lead, Notinos are humble and hard-working. I wanted to help build the engine rather than maintain one already built I suppose. On a personal note, through the interview process I couldn’t believe how kind and direct everyone was, I was thrilled to get the call from my recruiter Nick with an offer. It felt like it was meant to be!

Luckily I heard very good things about Notion from peers within the industry weeks before receiving an email from my recruiter, Nick Lewis. At the time, I wasn’t interested in looking for a new role but I was curious to know more about Notion so I accepted the first call with Nick, and I am so happy I did. I then went through the interview process and met with wonderful people who built my motivation even more to join such an exciting company. After doing some more research, testing the product (I absolutely loved it!), it was a no brainer for me to join Notion.

After 6 years at LinkedIn I made the jump to a crypto company as I had grown too comfortable so I wanted to get experience in a more scrappy environment and try something new. Crypto didn’t have a great year in 2022 obviously but I really enjoyed the building mentality everyone had as well as the start up environment in itself. So, I started to look for companies that were in that phase. I was a personal user of Notion already and absolutely loved the product so I decided to check out their vacancies. I really enjoyed the interview process - Ger Quinn, the recruiter, was great so when the offer came it was a no-brainer. Throughout the process, as I was getting to know a few of the people there, I quickly realised Notion incorporated everything I was looking for in a future employer.

People from different countries move to Dublin for roles at Notion. If you relocated to Dublin, we’d love to know where you were living before Dublin and what influenced you to relocate?

I was living in Belgium before relocating back to Dublin. For those thinking about an international next step I would say it’s a very, multicultural & diverse city with the kindest of people. Because of the tech scene here, you get exposure to extremely talented people as well as companies that are able to accelerate your career and knowledge at an extremely rapid pace. It’s also a beautiful country to roadtrip through!

I work on Notion’s Customer Experience team as a CX Vendor Manager. So no surprise I’m passionate about making our support experience a brand differentiator for Notion. Knowing that every interaction with our user is an opportunity to drive value means I spend my days working with various teams and partners to make this an operational reality. We work hard so our users can focus on their best work!

I am very privileged to lead our amazing Customer Success team in EMEA. Our role is to ensure our enterprise customers are getting the most value out of Notion, it’s such a powerful tool we need to help maximise the return on investment. My role involves supporting the team, leading projects and working with our largest customers in the region. Literally no day is the same! I know that sounds like a cliché but it’s true. Most of our focus is on our customers, but we also work with other teams and departments including sales, marketing, customer experience, product.. since we’re still in building mode there’s lots of chances to jump into projects which will have a big impact on our customers.

As a Customer Success Manager, my main goal is to ensure that our customers are getting the most value from Notion by building strong relationships through calls, trainings and face to face meetings. Talking to customers, understanding their needs, working closely with our sales team and collaborating with the wider Marketing and Engineering teams would describe a typical day.
